Manholes are used in sewage systems for gravity discharge of waste waters from residential houses, for rain waters and waste waters from industrial plants. Inspection manholes enable ventilation, cleaning, maintenance and access to sewage pipes. The most common are the semi-prefabricated round manholes as, in addition to excellent sealing, light weight and simple installation, they are also characterised by an accessible price. In the comprehensive production programme of the Regeneration (Regeneracija) company, there are numerous variants and special constructions to choose from.
Manholes are vertically installed pipes with pipe connections from the sewage system at the bottom and an entry opening with a lid at the top. Pipe connections are drawn off into the installation tube at the bottom which directs the water flow and prevents the deposition of silt at the bottom of the manhole.
Inspection manholes may be installed so that they can be driven over or so that they cannot be driven over. In the installation of manholes made of polymer materials, there are no limitations. On green plots and surfaces intended for pedestrians and bicycle riders, manholes for non-trafficked surfaces are installed. These are manholes with a smaller load-bearing capacity and a lid with a concrete ring. Manholes for trafficked surfaces sustain axel loads of up to 600 KN (trafficked surfaces for cars and heaviest of freight vehicles) or up to 900 KN for airports. The lid and the stress-relief ring at the top of the manholes for trafficked surfaces can bear the load of vehicles on the backfill material next to the manhole.
