Containers are used for the storage of solutions for the prevention of frost (CaCl2, MgCl2, NaCl). Containers are equipped with a pipe system for filling, draining and mixing of solutions. A solution is previously prepared in a container for the dissolution of salt and is pumped into truck cisterns that spread it on roads. Filling and draining the container is performed by a special pump that is resistant to chemicals.
The saline solution which is prepared in the dissolution container is pumped into the container for the storage of the solution. The level of the solution in the container is monitored by the level indicator. The solution is pumped from the container into the transport cisterns that spread it on roads. The solution should occasionally be mixed with the pump in order to equalise the content of salt in the entire container. The remaining solution may be pumped back from the transport cistern into the container. The container is equipped with an entry opening for possible cleaning and servicing.
Containers for the storage of solutions are free-standing. They must be placed and secured on a concrete slab of appropriate size. They are usually placed under projecting roofs in motorway maintenance bases.
